Patricia Svarnas is an artist, writer, blogger, and teacher. Her art combines her passion for painting and collage with her love of inspirational quotes, ideas, and images. Her work has been described as “whimsical, layered, inspiring, and playful.”
Patricia is particularly drawn to vintage paper ephemera–old nautical maps, postcards, letters, stamps, as well as black and white photographs. She incorporates all these elements into her art, which creates a wonderfully colorful juxtaposition between the old and the new. She loves that these often forgotten items find a new life in her mixed media pieces.
Patricia’s work is sold online through her Etsy shop and through private sales and local art shows.
Her latest press includes her work being featured as the cover art for Cloth Paper Scissors magazine’s July/August 2014 issue.
When she’s not creating artwork, Patricia spends her time blogging, going on photography road trips, relaxing on the beach in her seaside hometown, traveling, drinking tons of tea, tending to her balcony garden, and cooking up a storm in her sunny kitchen.
